BFP has a new name. BFP Tax, Accounting & Advisory Limited. 

I know what you’re thinking. New name, same accountant, who cares. But this one isn’t cosmetic. It’s the most honest thing I’ve done to my business in years. 

Tax and Accounting are staying in the name. That’s still how people find me, and I’m not precious about that. But Advisory used to be the add-on. The thing I did after the compliance box was ticked. Now it’s flipped. Advisory is the main game. 

Here’s what that actually means for you. It’s not me telling you your tax bill once a year and wishing you well. It’s quarterly accountability meetings. It’s asking what you actually want out of your business, your family, your life, and then building a plan to get you there. Filing returns is part of the job. It was never supposed to be the whole job. 

In plain English, I don’t want to be the ambulance waiting at the bottom of the cliff. I want to be the guard rail you ring before you get anywhere near the edge. 

What fills my cup isn’t a tidy set of accounts. It’s the client who gets approved for their first home. The one who finally takes their family overseas. The one who stops working from the kitchen table on a Sunday because their business doesn’t need them to anymore. The one who tells me they can finally sleep, because their tax is under control and it’s not living in the back of their mind. That’s the work. That’s what I signed up for. 

I can say this with a straight face because I’ve done it in my own business first, and this goes back further than the day I went out on my own. It goes back to the day I first became self-employed. The lifestyle I dreamed of back then, I actually have it now. Not by accident. By being strategic, planning properly, and having someone hold me accountable the whole way through. Exactly what I ask of my clients.
